Martijn Geerits wins the Public Award of JCI Limburg

Toplas and in particular its CEO Martijn Geerits was awarded at JCI Limburg, an organization for young entrepreneurs and decision-makers. Martijn won the public award. The JCI Award Limburgse Jonge Ondernemer van het Jaar went to Thomas Jeurissen, owner and CEO of the MVT waste processing company from Houthalen-Helchteren. Martijn, together with Thomas Jeurissen, Dorien Breels (Pubmarket) and Tasso Limneos (Victus Sales), was one of the four nominees for Limburgse Jonge Ondernemer van het Jaar.

The award show and the presentation of the prizes took place on April 2 at C-Mine in Genk. A lot of preparation went into the award ceremony: the candidates went through a demanding and instructive process over the months before. In addition to the main prize, JCI Limburg also presented a public award. And that went to Martijn.

10,000 euro media value
Through Made in Limburg, the public could already cast 40 percent of the votes for that prize in advance. The remaining 60 percent was collected through a vote among the audience in the hall. Martijn Geerits won handsomely and was able to take home a cheque for 10,000 euros in media value.

Also a big thank you to my team at Toplas. This journey was so much more for me than just a competition. It was months of growth, learning and challenging myself. I took enormous steps as an entrepreneur. And I will carry that with me forever,” said Martijn about it. “Onwards to more growth, more impact and above all: keep doing what I love to do, together with you.
